The teenagers had "a vast quantity of alcohol and a civil amount of marijuana" when troopers arrived at the West Hill Road home at 12:35 a.m., in Jamaica, V.T., Sgt. Ryan Wood said.
Police did not disclose where in New Jersey the students were from.
All 55 teens were issued diversion paperwork for minors in possession of alcohol, and were supervised by state troopers as they destroyed the alcohol and marijuana, Wood said.
Sober parents were called to the scene, police said.
